Admissions Timeline: 2026–2027 Academic Year

  • Fall Admissions Cycle: January 1 through April 30, 2026.
  • Extended Fall Admissions Cycle: May 1 through July 31, 2026. Applications received during this period are subject to classroom space availability and might be placed on a waiting list.
  • July 1, 2026: Tuition cycle for 2026–2027 begins; first payment is due.
  • July 31, 2026: Deadline for financial aid applications for the 2026–2027 academic year for new and returning students.
  • Wednesday, September 9, 2026: Fall semester begins.
  • Spring Admissions Cycle: October 15 through November 30, 2026.
  • November 30, 2026: Deadline for financial aid applications for new students entering the spring 2027 semester.
  • Monday, January 11, 2027: Spring semester begins.

Tuition and fees

  • New student admissions application fee: $150 one-time fee due with the application; no yearly renewal fee.
  • Yearly tuition: $4,700.
  • Kindergarten through 5th grade curriculum fee: $250 per year.
  • 6th through 8th grade curriculum fee: $350 per year.
  • 9th through 12th grade curriculum fee: $450 per year.

School day and year

  1. School hours during the MCA academic year are 8 AM–3 PM.
  2. Our Academic Year always falls between Labor Day (September) and Memorial Day (May). Leaving families with clear expectations to plan vacations during the summer months.
  3. Students’ families are responsible for getting students to/from school.
  4. Morning drop-off begins at 7:45 AM, and at 3 PM afternoon pick-up begins.
  5. Before- and after-school care is not currently offered by MCA. MBC Kingdom Kids, located in our building, offers before- and after-school programs. Visit MBC Kingdom Kids for more information.

Tuition, fees, and costs

  1. Tuition for the 2026/2027 academic year is $4,700. Our Admissions Application details payment plan options and schedule.
  2. MCA charges a one-time application fee for new students of $150.
  3. MCA charges a yearly fee for “Curriculum” that varies depending upon grade level, and that is due on July 1st prior to the beginning of the academic year.
  4. Tuition Assistance (scholarship) options are available. There is a separate form that we encourage all families to fill out. Typically we offer up to $400 per semester, per qualifying student family. However, this varies each year depending upon our grants, donations, and scholarship partners.
  5. New students generally have a cost to purchase uniform shirts. Our “Parent Support Team” also coordinates an exchange of uniform shirts, as students grow out of a size. This provides families with an opportunity to purchase gently used uniform shirts at discounted prices.

Academics, curriculum, and ideology

  1. Our Mission: To educate young hearts and minds to impact their communities and the world for Jesus Christ.
  2. Curriculum draws from sources such as: My Father’s World, Institute for Excellence in Writing (IEW), Bob Jones University publishing, Rod & Staff textbooks, Berean Builders, and Apologia.
  3. Each student is placed in a classroom with no more than 10–12 students, and 1 teacher. Creating an environment for each student to receive individualized instruction and attention.
  4. Mastery-based learning means establishing a foundation of new skills or information, then demonstrating that knowledge, and finally the ability to teach that subject to younger students. One of the best methods to solidify knowledge is the ability to teach another what you’ve learned. Students must demonstrate mastery before advancing in a subject.
  5. Learning methodologies vary to meet every student’s needs: in-person (1-on-1) instruction, self-paced reading, video tutorials, and supplementing books or computer programs.
  6. Classrooms always feature multiple ages and grades, to create a “one room schoolhouse” environment. This enhances the learning experience for all students.
  7. Standardized testing is done every spring to assess progress.
  8. Field trips are scheduled throughout the academic year to various sites, including:
    • Museums (for example, SELU Conservancy, Wilderness Road, train museum, etc.)
    • Historically significant sites (for example, Wolf Creek Indian Village)
    • Radford Planetarium
    • And more
  9. Guest speakers give presentations at school on:
    • Music (for example, worship music and instrument learning)
    • Historic events (for example, Civil War re-enactors)
    • Career highlights (for example, engineer, pastor, doctor, educator, cybersecurity, etc.)
    • Art workshops (for example, drawing, painting, dancing, etc.)

Admissions and paperwork

  1. All that is required to start this process is to fill out the Admissions application (and the application fee) for each student applying. If your family has more than one student, a separate application and fee should be submitted for each student.
  2. Tuition Scholarship forms can be filled out, and only ONE application per family is needed. The requisite tax forms can be provided directly to our Office Administrator, Ainsley McDougal. She can be reached by email [email protected], or calling 540‑388‑0025.

    Note: there is a deadline each semester for the Tuition Scholarship application. If you miss the deadline, we cannot guarantee scholarship monies will be available for your family.

  3. Next step is to schedule a Family Interview, including the student.
  4. Accepted students will receive an Offer Letter.
  5. While we can, in some cases, accept students partway through the academic year. It’s preferable to put your students’ application in as early as possible—so that when we are planning our next academic year, we know what additional resources, classroom space, and teachers need to be allocated. Transferring after the start of the academic year is entirely dependent upon classroom space and resources.
